I travel
a lot for work (usually 2-3 nights away per week) and I go all over
the world. That means a lot of different hotels and room layouts. I
always have a yellow Photon Micro-Light on the bedside cabinet, for
all those times when I wake up at a strange time in a strange room.
It certainly saves me from heading for the wardrobe instead of the
bathroom! The yellow light wakes me up far less than having to turn
the lights on. I have a white Photon also but I find it more useful
for outdoor use, when I am already wide awake!
Either way I’ve had both lights for over a year and am still on the
original batteries. Thanks again for a very useful product.

Last
spring I bought yellow Photons for my families key rings. Recently I
was in Florida on business staying in a large hotel. I arrived after
dark and after getting settled in my room. The power went out.
Everything including the telephones went off. There was scattered
emergency lighting but none in the rooms. Needless to say we had to
evacuate. Luckily for me my Photon showed myself and sever of my
floor mates the way down the darkened stairwell. Everyone wanted to
know about the light and wanted to get one of their own.

I always
take a small flashlight with me whenever I travel, and prior to this
trip a friend recommended that I get a Photon. He gave me a demo of
his light and I was impressed. I bought several but had no idea what
was in store for my little light on my next trip. One of my many
“adventures” on the trip involved a hike to the top of Mt. Sinai to
watch the sunrise. Our hike was to begin at 1:30 a.m.. We would be
making the 3-hour plus hike in complete darkness.
A few hours before we were to leave our guide asked my friend and I
if we had flashlights. My friend had a small flashlight and I had my
blue Photon II. When the guide saw my little flashlight he burst out
in laughter and expressed his disbelief that such a tiny light would
be of any help to me on the hike. (I want to re-iterate that I
brought the flashlight on the trip completely out of habit – I
completely forgot that I was going to need a flashlight on the
hike.) I had another small flashlight but opted to only take the
Photon on the hike. My decision was reinforced when the guide
reminded my friend and I to bring extra batteries since we would be
using the flashlight continuously for at least 3 ½ hours. My friend
packed 2 extra AA batteries in his backpack, the guide packed 3
extra C batteries in his backpack and I slipped the Photon II into
my pocket.
As we started up the mountain the guide said he didn’t think “that
tiny little flashlight” was going to give me enough light to see. I
pointed out that I only needed to see the ground in front of me – I
wasn’t trying to light up the entire mountain. As the hike
progressed I had no trouble seeing where I was going and, because of
the blue light, the guide could easily spot me among the other
hikers on the trail. Halfway up the mountain, as we became more
tired, I was thankful that the weight in my backpack only came from
the water I was carrying and not from extra batteries. After we
arrived at the top we waited at least an hour more for the sun to
come up. During that time I used my light to look around and to
write postcards. From start to finish the light was continuously on
for over 4 hours and it was burning just as brightly when I turned
it off at sunrise as it did when I turned it on at the bottom of the
mountain. Thanks for a great product.

I was on
the road recently expounding on the grand virtues of our nationally
recognized upholstery material when I ran afoul of mother natures
fury. Finding myself in a local Inn with no power, no lights to
shave or shower, no visual way of navigating my dark room, an L.R.I
“light bulb” lit over my head and I remembered that on my key chain
I had a Photon Micro light II in romantic sapphire blue. Well let it
be told to all and shouted to the heavens that I enjoyed a
relatively normal shave and shower because of this wonderful little
“adult toy”. My day was an overwhelming success with customers and I
attribute that to my carefree and relaxed approach thanks to
starting my day with MY Photon Micro-Light II.
Thank you all and keep up the great work.

There
were four tourista’s on a short hike to the jungle waterfall. So
beautiful we couldn’t help but explore just a little further and a
little further. Daylight starting to fade we asked a farmer for
directions in first grade Spanish. He points, but I feel he has a
“dumb tourist” expression on his face. Down the canyon we go
reaching the creek as darkness arrives. Well we’re not at the road
but ½ mile away and 100 ft. above. A silence grabbed us all as we
realized the severity of our miscalculation.
Someone reached in their daypack and pulled out a single AA battery
flashlight with about a 2 ft. beam OH! **%&(!D!! OH.
Then I remembered I had taken my yellow Photon light off of my
jacket and hooked it to my pocketknife (a real survival combo).
Light beautiful soft yellow light. Away we went over giant boulders,
down waterfalls, etc. to the road. Checking out every step along the
way. As we reached the road, backslapping and ha ha’s ensued,
looking back up the canyon there was a sight at the entrance, it
read “Pelegro Zonada de Culembras Venonousos” (Warning Zone of
Poisonous Snakes).

My
daughter gave me a white Photon for Fathers day. I took it with me
on a back packing trip to Nova Scotia, Kejimkujik Park. I could pick
my path through huge ferns easily at night. The beam would carry 50
yards out to show the “little building” they had out there. Finding
that place is Very important for those middle of the night sojourns.
I met two really nice maintenance fellows one time out there who I
wish to say thanks for helping me. I could think of no better way to
say thanks than giving them Photons.
Thanks for a good product.

HL: Stranded Man Directs Rescuers to Floe
DU: 11/03/95
DY: Friday
BL: By J. Paulin
KOTZ Radio
Jimmy Jones’ pocket flashlight (red Photon Micro-Light) came in
handy Tuesday night. It helped guide rescuers who plucked him from
an ice floe after his snow machine sank into Kotzebue Sound. The
rescuers, clad in dry suits, walked and splashed their way
three-quarters of a mile across rotting ice, towing a seal hunter’s
small boat and picked up Jones from a floe he was sharing with some
seals.
“There were seals that were climbing onto the ice floe with him he
was kind of concerned that they might break off the ice floe and
make the place he was standing a little bit smaller,” said Steve
Troxell of the Kotzebue search and rescue team. Troxell and
firefighter Carl Chamblee rescued Jones from the ice. Troxell said
Jones spent at least an hour on the ice before he was spotted. The
rescue then took another three hours.
Fire Chief Ron Munson Said Jones’ snow machine sank into the main
channel about three quarters of a mile from shore. Jones was
traveling to a camp at Sheshalik, about nine miles northwest of
Kotzebue, when he decided to turn back because he didn’t like the
way the ice looked, Munson said. At that point, his snow machine
broke through and sank. Munson said Jones attracted help by shouting
and waving his pocket flashlight around. Police Chief Paul Nolton
said Alfred Gregg, who called police about 9 p.m, spotted Jones, 22.
Munson said Troxell and Chamblee donned dry suits and towed a small
seal hunter’s fiberglass boat, only a few feet long, carefully out
across the mushy ice, sometimes breaking through and splashing
through patches of open water. “We had to make several detours,”
Troxell said. “(But) we were able to weave a path following his
light and found him out there on an ice floe. There was pretty much
open water around it.” Troxell said he and Chamblee had to swim the
last few yards, towing the boat. They got Jones in the boat and made
their way back. Troxell said the round trip took nearly three hours
because of ice conditions. “The ice was bad. It was extremely bad,”
he said. “You couldn’t tell what was good (ice) and bad. We probably
went through the ice 25 or 30 times apiece in the mile out there to
get the person.” Jones was wise to wait for help, rather than try to
make his way back alone, Troxell said. Nolton said Jones was rescued
unharmed and taken to Maniilaq Health Center. He was later released
and has since returned to camp. Nolton said Kikiktaruk Inupiat Corp.
provided spotlights from a construction project to assist in the
rescue operation. About 100 onlookers came down to watch while the
rescue was under way

I received one of your Photon lights last Christmas as a present. I
am a fire inspector and found that your light is very handy. On my
key chain it is always with me (not left behind in the car) and I
don’t have to mess with chargers. I have yet to replace the
batteries. It is bright enough to replace a full sized flashlight
and nowhere near the bulkiness!
Moreover, ten days ago, it saved our lives. I had been visiting my
daughter, Jacquelyn, in North Dakota and was driving back to the
airport at 5 a.m. when we hit a patch of ice and slid off the
Interstate. The car rolled 2 ½ times and we ended up in the ditch 60
some feet off the road, upside down in the dark. We couldn’t find
her full-sized flashlight in the car because the impact had broken
it into pieces. The car electricity was out, windows broken out and
it was 9 degrees Fahrenheit. We were bruised, cut and dazed.
Jacquelyn crawled out through the passenger side window and went
around to the rear to retrieve the cell phone and call the Highway
Patrol. I kicked the rest of the windshield out and crawled out into
the snow. I got the Photon out of my purse. We watched as another
car slid off the highway above us. Seconds later a pick-up truck
stopped on the shoulder. Two young men got out of the pick-up and
called down. They couldn’t see us in the dark—just a dark blob in
the snow. We signaled with the Photon and they scrambled down the
embankment. We used the Photon to find our belongings and illuminate
our way back to the truck. The two guys helped us up to the truck
and transported us to the hospital emergency room. The highway
patrol was busy with the other vehicles that had slid off the road
about the same spot. The guys were amazed at the size of the Photon
when they saw it up close; they had thought we had a spotlight on
our car! It was that bright. Thank you for inventing and marketing
something so useful, practical, reliable and handy.

A few
weeks ago, some friends kidnapped me and forced me to go “mudding”
(this dreadful Southern tradition involving beer, jeeps and potholes
from hell). Sure enough, we got stuck in some huge hole where no
sane person would be even in daylight, it was 1:00 in the morning.
We had cell phones, but AAA doesn’t really cover that sort of thing.
Someone had to go off on foot to try and find someone to pull us
out. We had seen someone about a mile back, so off they went with my
blue Photon II. It probably kept them from stepping on some horrid
little creature in the woods in the pitch-blackness. Shortly
afterwards we saw my blue light coming from the distance with
headlights behind it …I will NEVER be without a Photon!

4. Here
is yet another testimonial for you. I’ve had a red Photon II for
about eight months now and it is my constant companion. I’ve used it
to read books on late night road-trips, to find dozens of small
things hidden in dark corners, to illuminate odd spaces, and even as
a signal light. When I bike home at night, I clip it to my bike as a
taillight. At White Sands National Monument, I duct-taped it to the
underside of a Frisbee to play at night. In a night luminary parade
in Scotland I used it to light my huge paper lantern when the candle
finally burned out.
Recently, I rebuilt the engine in my 1973 VW van. That engine has a
metal shroud that is held together with innumerable little screws.
One of the screws fell into an intake port on my cylinder head and
vanished. I fished around for it with a magnet on a long rod, to no
avail. Then I thought to lower the Photon down into the engine.
Presto --- Problem Solved. I could see the screw clearly and soon
fished it out.
I’m so happy with mine, I’ve ordered 25 more to give to all my
friends this holiday. Thanks!

Friday
night I took a ride on my snowmobile. To make a long story short it
broke down in the middle of nowhere. My friend tried to tow me but
the track had locked up due to the failure of the gearbox. The only
way I could get the snowmobile moving was to take out the broken
gears in the gearbox. Needless to say, it was pitch black outside I
couldn’t see a thing. I happened to have my keys for my truck in my
pocket, which had a Photon. This little light was amazing a blessing
to have. It provided me with the light I needed to disassemble the
gearbox and tow the snowmobile to a safe place where I could pick it
up in the morning.
I can’t thank you enough this little light really saved my butt that
night!

I was
really hoping to never have a juicy testimonial for you. But about
two months ago, while lost on a moonless night, I ran out of gas in
the middle of nowhere. I had to walk for miles through fields of
knee-high grass, guided only by my red Photon. It got me all the way
to a gas station and back, no worse for wear. I certainly would have
broken an ankle if I had, had to tromp through those weeds without
my light.
It’s nice to know I can count on my light to virtually never run out
of juice (unlike my car). Since then I have purchased a white Photon
II, it has quickly become the most useful light I have ever owned.
It also made backpacking a much, much lighter experience.

-
I have
had my Photon II for a year or so and while it has been generally
useful, it hasn’t really had a chance to be a lifesaver. Carried in
my pocket at all times it mostly sees use at nighttime. That is
until recently. Working part time as a dispatcher I load trucks with
pallets. The pallets are marked with spray paint to show their
destination. On this particular day the truck was fully loaded with
pallets and we were unsure if an important pallet that had been
loaded up front was marked correctly. With no lights inside the
truck we had one option…. To unload the entire truck.
But not so I pulled out my Photon, clambered to the back of the
truck and shone the beam onto the painted pallet. To make a longer
story short a lot of time was saved and the whole operation hassle
free thanks to the small high-powered Photon that I can carry
everywhere.

LRI Repairs
I just received my photon back today. I am 110% satisfied. You replaced my old light with a brand new one because the old model was no longer available. That is truly a company dedicated to customer satisfaction. A company that should be
recognized in our country and followed. You have went above your duty to satisfy me and I am well please. I have told many people about how the photon is a great light and how LRI is a wonderful company to work with and i believe a couple
people are going to get one. This is how things are suppose to be. But somehow some companies have lost their integrity, but not you guys, thanks for opening my eyes and letting me realize that we still have a few good companies left who are
dedicated to customer satisfaction and will stand behind their product to prove it. You dont just say the words to make a sale you also provide service. Great job.
I'm not sure how your customer service works but if you could somehow let Amica Rose from customer service know that she has done a great job taking care of me, I would appreciate it.
She wrote a letter back on the invoice number 8016 to let me know what has happened. Again another quality that is left out from other companies. She sounds genuine about her customer satisfaction and does the company great justice for taking
her job serious. Thanks Amica for the letter and concern.
A very satisfied customer
Thanks
