I must say that I was very impressed
by your letter and your company’s willingness to replace my damaged
Photon 3 even though when you received my letter my light was
missing. This level of customer service is uncommon these days and
will keep people like me, buying your products in the future.
My light, a white Photon Micro-Light 3 Has served me well. I am a
senior patrolman in the Victoria Police Dept. in Victoria Texas and
have carried my light on my key ring for approximately a year.
Several months ago I was involved in a foot pursuit in a wooded
area, after a suspect fled his vehicle during a traffic stop. The
flashlight I was carrying had become dim and then the batteries went
dead. I turned my Photon on the continuous mode and continued my
search. With the aid of my Photon I located the suspect underneath
the staircase of a nearby warehouse.
I was very surprised when I discovered that the LED bulb had
cracked. Several Other officers on my shift carry Photon
Micro-Lights and we frequently use them for signaling each other
during nighttime operations and building searches. Your product has
proven to be an important piece of equipment in my patrol duties.

I am exceptionally impressed with
your level of confidence in your products and your speedy action in
sending the replacement part to me. I have been quite lost without
my Fusion, as I use it extensively both during the day and night
when I am measuring components for our portable sawmills, during
fabrication there is only a +/- 0.25mm tolerance for error on parts.
I find that using the Fusion removes all trace of shadows that play
tricks upon the eye and result in errors.
With my Fusion broken, I tried to relieve my partner/son and met
with stiff protest indeed all the staff guards their lights,
protesting greatly if I want to borrow it.
I have just come from doing a bit of woodturning on my lathe and
again have found a vast advantage in wearing my Fusion; I am able to
see far better than just ambient light alone. Having the headlight
once again, made working so much more rewarding, as I was able to
see far more clearly what material was being removed. I was quite
amazed at how much “natural light” was blocked out by the sawdust.
The additional light from the Fusion penetrated the gloom created by
the sawdust and allowed me to see clearly.

Your Photon light is an incredible
product, but it is outshone by your customer service. I am a
Chiropractor, I have a light for personal use: to get into my car,
house and look for things in the dark. I also have an ultra violet
that we use in the practice to demonstrate the nervous system in a
way that makes the bodies’ miraculous abilities simple to
understand. We have a model of a spine that has fiber optics in
place of the spinal cord. Attached to the top is the Photon 3, It is
then easy to demonstrate what the effect is on the nervous system
that is not flowing freely. The light on continuously shows
sympathetic mode-fight or flight, stress and the adrenals firing
away, cortisol running rampant, or in the blinking mode it shows the
signals traveling thru the body, as it should.
Your light is truly a thing of beauty and quality. More remarkable,
however, was the fact that even though the postal department
delivered my envelope without the lights to be serviced. This didn’t
hinder your staff, as they promptly mailed out replacement lights.
I have owned your lights since they first came out and will continue
to give them as gifts, proud to steer people to the highest quality
product on the market, and a company that still cares what the
consumer thinks.

I got my blue Photon 3 yesterday. It

more than 8 hours (!!) tonight and I used all my Photons (II and 3)
to find my way around my darkened apartment – couldn’t think of a

The long, rambling, relatively
unimportant stuff: I bought your Photon Micro-Light in Seattle. I
loved it to death. I bought one for my father; I bought one for
everyone in my wedding party. I bought one for my brother.
Then the bad stuff started happening: though all four of the guys in
my wedding party said that their lights continue to work swell, my
light, my brothers and my fathers started to do this annoying thing
where they come on when they aren’t being squeezed. I replaced the
batteries in mine twice, but only ended up only getting about three
weeks life out of the thing (because it was going on by itself so
much).
I’m sending you mine in hopes of getting a replacement.
My brother has zero tolerance for any mechanical malfunctions and he
threw his into the Pacific near Rincon (a great though crowded surf
break in between Ventura and Santa Barbara).
My dad says that his isn’t working but he hasn’t thrown his into the
Pacific. He has a little patience. So I guess I’m also asking you if
you’ll send me a functional light to give to my father. I’ll send
his to you when I get yours. My brother is too damned impatient – he
doesn’t deserve to get a replacement. He shouldn’t have thrown the
thing into the Pacific.
Finally I checked with all the guys in the wedding party, they said
that they were amazed at how often you use a flashlight you just
happen to have on your key chain. Jorge said “ You know, I would
have just stumbled into something in the dark, or struggled to read
something in the dark, but with this thing always in my pocket, that
doesn’t happen any more.”
Frankly, I was very stoked with my light too, till it started to not
work.
The short version (the important stuff): Wow, what a long rambling
letter. To summarize: please send me one replacement light for me,
and one for my father. I’m enclosing my old light.
I’m best man in a wedding 3 weeks from now, and well I think that I
should get lights for all six other guys who are standing up at the
wedding. Got any volume discounts?

Some time ago I bought an L.R.I Photon light and without trying sold
it to a friend the same day. So then I bought 3 and tried not to
sell all 3. The next day I ordered 8 and those sold. I still wasn’t
trying to sell them. People would whine until I sold them the light
off my key ring. I should have tried to make more than $1 on each of
the sales. I was buying them at retail and still able to sell them
at a profit! The 25 I got from you last week are gone and I haven’t
launched my sales effort yet. The manager of a Proex Camera store
bought 12 of them for his employees and I’m sure he will be ordering
directly from YOU for his store’s needs. I didn’t think of them as
an outlet for Photon lights but they’ve got a walk-in customer base
along with counter space and that’s apparently all it takes to sell
Photon lights.
That brings me to this order. Could I have this order expedited?
Please! I have a few marketing ideas on how I could move something
that sells itself with the same popularity as fresh water in the
middle of the desert. I’m not at present in the retail business but
if people won’t let me keep my L.R.I Photon light on my key ring
I’ll get into the retail business just for the educational
experience.
I have described you, David Allen, as the inventor of this unique
light and as a friend of mine that isn’t following the traditional
marketing tactics for such a product. That answers the question I’ve
heard too many times, “why haven’t I seen these lights in the stores
if they’re so great?” First people ask this question and then they
buy at least one Photon light. For now these lights sell themselves
so thanks again for your efforts and may the success of L.R.I be
similar to that of Microsoft.

Approximately 2 ½ years ago I purchased 25 Photon lights in blue and
red. These were used for a medical team taken to the Sudan in Africa

tale of woe to tell and I’m hoping you will come to my assistance.
Recently, my daughter gave me a Father’s Day present of your
wonderful Photon II white light. Since we just moved to the above
address way up in the north country my daughter felt that this would

I do a lot of fine work of watches and clocks, quite often in dark
and poky corners of other peoples houses. Your Fusion is very light
and handy, it throws a completely even light, no dark patches in the
center of the beam and the batteries seem to last forever, it really
makes my work a great deal easier.
Even when I’m sitting at my own bench, with proper illumination all
around me, the Fusion still helps when I am peering into the works
of watches and clocks. With the Fusion I only have to move my head a
fraction to enable me to see exactly what I need to see in order to
complete the service/repair in which I am at that moment engaged.
If I may say so, a really wonderful little bit of kit, it does make
my life a great deal easier, oddly I also use it at home, when I am
stoking up my bonfire, on which I burn a great deal of garden
rubbish, last thing at night, so it burns steadily all night, I use
my headlight which leaves both hands free to build the fire up into
a proper easily burning heap.

Although
I have had a yellow Photon for a few months, my new Photon II
arrived in today’s mail. I am far, far from being a young kid, but I
felt like one when I took the light into our walk-in closet, shut
the door and turned on MY Photon II. Fabulous!
A few weeks later my wife and I attended a performance of the Boston
Pops Orchestra at the Symphony Hall in Boston. When the lights
dimmed and the performance started, my somewhat diminished eyesight
prevented me from reading the program. My light, which I always
carry, came to the rescue. The beam did not disturb those seated
around us, but at intermission they all commented and wanted one of
their own (I should have had some to sell I would have made a
bundle).

I have
been a building inspector for 27 years and for the first 20 years my
flashlight was always in the trunk when I needed it. Flashlights
were just too cumbersome. A few years ago I tried several small
lights but the batteries don’t last long enough, and the bulbs were
too dim. Then my son Forrest, while caving in England, told me about
a light he used as an emergency light source because of its
brightness and longevity. It turned out to be the Photon light. I
bought a white one and have never been without it since. I attached
it to my knife. The light is very small and easily carried and I
really like the on/off switch.

frequently walk at night along unlit residential streets that also
have no sidewalks. I put my Photon 3 in the one minute on setting so
the LED flashes for three seconds before coming on steadily. When I
see an oncoming car, I press the switch and the three seconds of
flashing gets the attention of the driver. A wide right of way is
almost guaranteed.

I bought
a Photon in blue. I LOVED it. It was so much brighter than anything
else I’d seen. I used it intensively for car repairs, plumbing,
computer repairs, anywhere I didn’t have enough light. It really
showed through when I was at a Boy Scout campout, some snow hit,
most of the lights failed from water, but my Photon light stayed
strong and we were able to find some propane lights. Thanks to the
people who make these wonderful little lights.

I have
had my Photon II for a year or so and while it has been generally
useful, it hasn’t really had a chance to be a lifesaver. Carried in
my pocket at all times it mostly sees use at nighttime. That is
until recently. Working part time as a dispatcher I load trucks with
pallets. The pallets are marked with spray paint to show their
destination. On this particular day the truck was fully loaded with
pallets and we were unsure if an important pallet that had been
loaded up front was marked correctly. With no lights inside the
truck we had one option…. To unload the entire truck.
But not so I pulled out my Photon, clambered to the back of the
truck and shone the beam onto the painted pallet. To make a longer
story short a lot of time was saved and the whole operation hassle
free thanks to the small high-powered Photon that I can carry
everywhere.

for a great product. I am an engineer by profession with hobbies
like horses, hiking and adventure racing. I’ve been through 5 sets
of batteries already. The lights have been used in raving, power
outages, to repair trailer lights at the roadside at night, to crawl
down and inspect gulleys (French drains), inspect caves, during
camping trips in my tent (the on/off switch is invaluable then), to
remove an foreign object from an injured horses’ eye, and many other
times. My lights are permanently with me – one on my chain and the
other on my motorcycle key. I have other flashlights but I Photons
account for 90% of actual use.

This has
got to be one of the coolest inventions ever! All my other
flashlights lost their home. Photons are by far brighter than
incandescent bulbs or for that matter glow sticks.
Major Tripps
A. Check for dropped objects – change, keys, etc. in the theater
(red LED), you can also use it to signal a friend to where you are
seated.
B. Forgot if you signed that check you just sealed in the envelope?
Just shine your light through the envelope.
C. Locate that sheet of paper stuck somewhere in the innards of the
copy machine. Or crawling under the desk to check on computer cables
to connect or disconnect from the back of the CPU.
D. Shine the light through your hand to see that pesky splinter.

Get
this! We have a wooded backyard that extends about an acre back.
Today I was out there raking leaves when I noticed a red light on
the ground. I picked it up and to my amazement it was one of the
Photon Micro-Lights…. Turned on!!! No one in my family has ever
owned one, and while it was dirty and the ring was rusty the light
was still shining. Kudos to the makers of this product, unlike a lot
of things today the Photon is built to last.

received the 2 new Covert Photons that I ordered from you, I

it adds extra protection to the LED, my wife and I have both broken

I have
been a satisfied customer of Photon Micro-Lights since my older
brother first gave me a yellow one in Romania about six years ago.
When I was in Mozambique last summer we received several shipments
of humanitarian supplies for the flood victims. I was in charge of
sorting the contents of a shipping container of donated clothing
into different piles of women, men’s and children’s clothing. We
were about half way through the job when the first African sundown
suddenly turned everything pitch black inside the container.
I thankfully remembered the blue Photon with a lanyard I had on my
belt loop and clipped it to the brim of my hat. I had a lovely pool
of light by which to read the labels on the boxes. I stacked them
into three different piles for the other workers to take to three
different storage locations to be distributed to villages. It felt
great to just get the job done without having to wait another day.

to send you a thank you note for the Photon Micro-Light. Chris and I
took a trip up to SF on Wednesday evening, and it sure came in
handy! As we walked into the office, the alarm went off and the
light switch was nowhere in sight… my Photon to the rescue! The mail
server in SR uses a 1 Gigabit Network Interface Card. When we got
all the servers up, we realized that there was not connection light
on the switch for the mail server. There might have been a chance
that there might have been a break in the fiber optic glass. Since
we don’t have a fiber tester, I pulled out my Photon and shined it
through both pieces of fiber optic glass. We were able to determine
that the glass was fine and we then focused our attention on the NIC.

Here is
yet another testimonial for you. I’ve had a red Photon II for about
eight months now and it is my constant companion. I’ve used it to
read books on late night road-trips, to find dozens of small things
hidden in dark corners, to illuminate odd spaces, and even as a
signal light. When I bike home at night, I clip it to my bike as a
taillight. At White Sands National Monument, I duct-taped it to the
underside of a Frisbee to play at night. In a night luminary parade
in Scotland I used it to light my huge paper lantern when the candle
finally burned out.
Recently, I rebuilt the engine in my 1973 VW van. That engine has a
metal shroud that is held together with innumerable little screws.
One of the screws fell into an intake port on my cylinder head and
vanished. I fished around for it with a magnet on a long rod, to no
avail. Then I thought to lower the Photon down into the engine.
Presto --- Problem Solved. I could see the screw clearly and soon
fished it out.

This is to let you know that your Photon Micro-Lights are making a
difference in peoples lives. Last year I sold a few Photons to a
young man who works at a local dairy. It turns out that he is from a
small village in Mexico that is without electricity. He gave his
aging mother a Photon, which has changed her life. No longer does
she have to fumble to light a candle when rising at night to visit
the privy. She now can make the trip in comfort in the wind or rain
and not fear on treading on some creature of the night. She says
that her Photon is the best thing that has happened to her since her

take down on his next trip home.
On his way home this last trip he was actually accosted by a bandito
and robbed of his valuables. And guess what? That bandito relieved

illumination. The actual color, it seems to me, is like the very

Hehehehe… That was my first comment when I saw a friend’s Photon II
– they sell themselves.
As an engineer (and at one time an electronics tech) the first thing
I did, of course, when I bought my Photon II white was to dismantle
it. I’m impressed: well designed, efficiently laid out, excellent
choice of materials (the filled poly is an especially good choice
for the case). The Photon light stomps the other micro lights I’ve
seen into the ground and doesn’t even work up a sweat doing it.

long, rambling, relatively unimportant stuff: I bought your Photon
Micro-Light in Seattle. I loved it to death. I bought one for my
father; I bought one for everyone in my wedding party. I bought one
for my brother.
Then the bad stuff started happening: though all four of the guys in
my wedding party said that their lights continue to work swell, my
light, my brothers and my fathers started to do this annoying thing
where they come on when they aren’t being squeezed. I replaced the
batteries in mine twice, but only ended up only getting about three
weeks life out of the thing (because it was going on by itself so
much).
I’m sending you mine in hopes of getting a replacement.
My brother has zero tolerance for any mechanical malfunctions and he
threw his into the Pacific near Rincon (a great though crowded surf
break in between Ventura and Santa Barbara).
My dad says that his isn’t working but he hasn’t thrown his into the
Pacific. He has a little patience. So I guess I’m also asking you if
you’ll send me a functional light to give to my father. I’ll send
his to you when I get yours. My brother is too damned impatient – he
doesn’t deserve to get a replacement. He shouldn’t have thrown the
thing into the Pacific.
Finally I checked with all the guys in the wedding party, they said
that they were amazed at how often you use a flashlight you just
happen to have on your key chain. Jorge said “ You know, I would
have just stumbled into something in the dark, or struggled to read
something in the dark, but with this thing always in my pocket, that
doesn’t happen any more.”
Frankly, I was very stoked with my light too, till it started to not
work.
The short version (the important stuff): Wow, what a long rambling
letter. To summarize: please send me one replacement light for me,
and one for my father. I’m enclosing my old light.
I’m best man in a wedding 3 weeks from now, and well I think that I
should get lights for all six other guys who are standing up at the
wedding. Got any volume discounts?
